What's New In Glens Falls

2nd Sunday Free Admission At The Hyde

The Hyde Museum provides Glens Falls with a rich and invigorating resource for the arts. The Collection holds works by Rembrandt, Rubens, Picasso, Renoirs, Hassam; works that are in such high demand across the globe can be seen in this historic Renaissance mansion that is the Hyde. The Hyde's mission, envisioned by its founder Charlotte Hyde, has always been to give our community new opportunities and change lives through art.

This year, The Hyde is taking a new initiative to further their mission: every 2nd Sunday of the month, admission to The Hyde's exhibitions will be free.

Hyde director, Charles Guerin, says "We want to make the Museum accessible to everyone. We chose Sunday so families could easily participate.  Parents can enjoy the exhibitions while their children have fun being creative in the Art Studio."  This opportunity will give our community the chance to learn and express themselves without financial stipulations. By allowing free public access, The Hyde is creating a space for locals to expand their knowledge of the arts as well as enjoy the works of world renowned artists.

The Hyde exhibits regional and national works in its galleries, provides workshops and educational programs, holds lectures, and houses live music performances. This establishment gives our community a foundation for the arts that is necessary in order to have a well rounded and thriving city. Glens Falls is constantly evolving, giving the people of our community that much more to be proud of. Locals of the Glens Falls Region have the best of both worlds: a small, tight knit community with the culturally rich benefits of a large city. The Hyde and its continued strides towards community involvement only further this sense of versatility.

Come to The Hyde Collection every second Sunday to get your art fix for free!

In addition to being free to the public every 2nd Sunday, Hyde's regular admission policy for 2014 is: free for Hyde members; $8 regular admission; $6 for seniors (60+) and students; free for children 12 and under; free for active duty U.S. military and their families. Why not change your Sunday routine? Help The Hyde's mission to educate and benefit our community and give your family a chance to explore their creative side!
