gfhs football.jpgThe Glens Falls High School football team is going to Syracuse this weekend to play in the biggest high school football game in its' history, the Class B state football championship. The Indians will be playing against top ranked Maine-Endwell (12-0) at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, inside the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. The Indians made it to the Carrier Dome by beating Malboro High School 28-17 last Saturday, November 17, in Kingston. The last time Glens Falls made it close to the championship was in 1993, when they lost in the state semifinals.

I asked junior Zack Infield a few questions to see how the team was preparing for the big game coming up this weekend.
  1. What was running through your mind in the last couple of seconds of the game against Marlboro?

Zack: Tons of excitement and just the great feeling knowing we were on our way to the championship!

  2. How long have you been playing football?

Zack: I have been playing for nine years now.

  3. Do you have any pre-game rituals?

Zack: Before every game the team will have a moment of silence. It's just a little thing that helps us focus.

  4. What do you plan on doing after your senior year of high school?

Zack: I plan on going to college and I will major in criminal justice.

  5. What other sports do you play?

Zack: I don't play any other sports now but in the off-season I stay in shape and lift.

  6. Who is your favorite pro football team or player?

Zack: Favorite team is the cowboys and my favorite player is Drew Brees.

  7. What do you enjoy doing when you're not in school or playing football?

Zack: Hanging out with friends or lifting.

  8. How have you been staying focused and preparing for the upcoming game with school and Thanksgiving happening this week?

Zack: I watch a good amount of film, keep my self calm and ready for anything.

  9. What do you know about your opponent Maine-Endwell?

Zack: I know they like to run the ball and they're undefeated.

  10. Can you tell us your funniest football story?

Zack: Way too many to just think of one on the spot.
