The Adirondack Balloon Festival is turning 40 years old this year and it will be a birthday to remember. New York's largest hot air balloon festival will be celebrating its 40 year history this year with some new balloons and the "40 for 40" Moonglow!
This year will have over a dozen special-shape balloons that will be featured with the "The World's Largest Inflated Petting Zoo". Ten of the special-shape balloons are animal themed and will be lined up side by side.
The first ever "40 for 40," Moonglow will be will be taking place at the Floyd Bennet Memorial Airport. There will be up to 40 balloons illuminating the night on Saturday, September 22.
The special-shaped balloons that will be appearing this year are:
- "Barn Balloon"
- "Airhead Invader," a green alien
- "Betty Jean," the world's most beautiful butterfly
- "Birthday Cake"
- "Claw D," the crab
- "Fred B Rabbit"
- "Dingbat"
- "Purple People Eater"
- "Pig Headed"
- "T Rex"
- "Pokey," the turtle
- "Lily," the bumble bee
- "Spider Pig"
The four day festival will run from Thursday, September 20 until Sunday, September 23. This is going to be a balloon festival to remember so book your hotel rooms or reserve your camping site now!
