Piano at an outdoor, downtown event? Sounds impossible right? Not so! Renowned pianist and composer, Stephen Gallucci, is performing at Take A Bite, the weekly celebration of Downtown Glens Falls.
You may have already seen him tickling the ivories of his piano keyboard, and loved the light, mystical sound emanating from the instrument. If you missed him, Take A Bite is a weekly event through the rest of the summer, so you still have a chance to hear him -- and snack on some delicious tapas and get in on some great shopping deals while you're at it!
Studying music from early childhood, Gallucci was influenced by a number of great pianists. He also had the good fortune to study with great pianists and composers from a number of great music institutions, such as Julliard and the Paris Conservatory.
Gallucci's main focus of study is reviving forgotten romantic composers, who he believes were underrated. However, focusing on past greats does not deter Gallucci from creating his own music, characterized by his light impressionistic technique, as well his Russian approach to pianism.
The melodies of Gallucci are a refreshing change from the normal fare of music floating down a sidewalk. Check out these unique sounds as Gallucci performs at Take a Bite on Wednesdays through the end of summer.
