Visitors will no longer be able to smoke in certain areas outside at Moreau Lake State Park starting this year.
Smoking is already banned inside all the buildings on state park properties, but the new rules will prevent visitors from smoking on the beach, concession patio, and playgrounds this summer.
There will be designated areas outside for visitors to smoke. Moreau Lake State Park is putting this ban into effect when the park opens this year.
The goal is to create a cleaner park for visitors while reducing the dangers of second-hand smoke for non-smoking visitors.
