What's New In Glens Falls

March 2012 Archives

There will be a new business going in the vacant downtown building on Ridge Street in Glens Falls.
Mark Burritt is the founder of MVP Suite Rides, a company dedicated to providing first class travel to professional sporting events. He has worked for the New York Mets, Jets, Rangers, Knicks and the Yankees in the past.

In his new blog, 'The Good Sport', Burritt brings you an exclusive behind the scenes look at professional sporting events and venues. With years of experience overseeing customer service representatives at Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium and other professional New York sports venues, he's seen a side of sports that many of us have not.

Kreskin2.jpgThe Amazing Kreskin will be paying Glens Falls a visit when he performs at the Charles Wood Theater on Friday, March 30.  Kreskin is a thought reader, and has been performing all over the world for years.

I had a chance to sit down and talk with Kreskin about his gift, his career, and his performances. He's performed more than 6,000 times in Spain, Italy, New Zealand, Whales, Japan, and every other corner of the earth!

SUNY Adirondack and its affiliates announced today that construction financing has been secured, officially confirming plans to bring student housing to its Queensbury campus in time for fall semester 2013.

"The addition of on-campus student housing to the Queensbury campus marks another major milestone in SUNY Adirondack's commitment to increasing access to affordable higher education," said Dr. Ronald C. Heacock, the college's President. "With declining high school populations in our service area, on-campus student housing will allow us to maintain current enrollment levels by being able to accommodate residential students from outside our area." SUNY Adirondack's Marketing and Admissions office plan to promote the new housing option not only locally, but also in key markets such as Albany, Long Island, northern New Jersey, and Connecticut.
