Glens Falls Civic Center

The Glens Falls Civic Center, located in downtown Glens Falls, is a multi-purpose sporting and events arena. The arena seats 4,774 and was built in 1979. It also contains a 7,335 square foot banquet facility called Heritage Hall.

Year-Round Entertainment

adirondack thunder hockeyThe arena brings a variety of entertainment to Glens Falls all year long. Originally home to the Adirondack Red Wings, the AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, the Glens Falls Civic Center now hosts the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder.

Every winter, high school basketball teams converge on the arena for the New York State High School Basketball Championship and Federation Tournaments.

The Civic Center also hosts concerts, ice shows, family-friendly performances, fundraisers, and a wide variety of other events.

Indoor Walking

Enjoy indoor walking all year! The Glens Falls Civic Center allows walkers to purchase a walking wristband to use the track at the top of the arena. It's only $10 for the public ($9 for senior citizens ages 65+) for the whole calendar year.

The Civic Center is typically open for walking from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Be sure to check the official schedule to learn about modified hours and special dates when walking is not allowed.

Public Skating

The Glens Falls Civic Center also has public skating! From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the winter, the rink is open to the public for ice skating. The cost is $5 per person.

Check the schedule for dates when public skating will not be available due to other events happening in the arena.

    The 45th Annual Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC) June Arts Festival returns to Downtown Glens Falls' City Park on June 18 and 19, 2016. The June Arts Festival is one of the premier summer events in the southern Adirondack Region, drawing crowds of 20,000. The Festival features about 200 exhibitors offering shoppers a variety of products such as jewelry, home items, food items, fine art, textiles, garden decorations, etc- the event takes place rain or shine. The festival also includes not for profit booths, arts demonstrations, children’s activities, food concessions, and live entertainment by local musicians.
