Basketball Tournament Brings Hometown Hoopla

GLENS FALLS, NY -Basketball teams in New York State all strive to get to one destination: Glens Falls NY. The city is preparing to welcome top teams in the state for the The New York State Basketball Tournament held March 19-21, 2010 and the New York State Federation Tournament of Champions held March 26-28, 2010. As the host, the Glens Falls Civic Center is preparing for exciting back-to back weekends of basketball.

Hometown hoopla in downtown. To advertise the tournament this year, downtown Glens Falls came up with a new marketing strategy. Basketball banners and lights decorate downtown Glens Falls at three main intersections, drawing attention locally to the tournament.

Still need to buy tickets? There will be 5 classifications from Class AA to D, each naming a boys team state champion.  The winners of the class AA, A and B boys and girls state finals go on to the Federation Tournament of Champions. Tickets for each State Basketball Tournament and Federation Tournament session are $10. Buy tickets for the New York State Basketball Tournament and the New York Federation Tournament. If you are visiting from out of town, find Glens Falls lodging to stay close to all the action.
