West Mountain Ski Center

Did you know there’s a year-round ski resort located right here in Queensbury? West Mountain offers more than just winter sports. The ski center is open year round with countless, fun activities and comfortable dining! Check out their aerial adventure park in the warmth of summer, and enjoy more scenic chairlift rides and mountaintop yoga in the fall months. Hit the slopes on skis, snowboard, or tube this winter!

West Mountain is only half an hour from Saratoga Springs and 20 minutes from Lake George. Stop by West to get active, explore the mountain, or enjoy a picnic at the top!

Winter Sports and Activities

Skiing & Snowboarding 

West Mountain has over 30 trails for hitting the slopes. West Mountain has their own state-of-the-art snowmaking machines to provide skiing, snowboarding and tubing almost every day of the winter season. There are trails for all abilities and experiences, ranging from least difficult, moderately difficult, to expert.

Group or private lessons are available for willing-to-learn skiers and snowboarders!

Tubing

The Tubing Park is located next to the face of the mountain, with a “magic carpet” to get you to the top! There are four upper lanes and six lower lanes for tubing. You can choose a single or double tube - either race your friends down the lanes or join together for more fun!

Summer Fun

Aerial Adventure Park

The new, five-acre park at the top of West Mountain now offers six ropes courses! These courses range in difficulties, and anyone that reaches the height, weight, and age requirements may attempt even the Black course. After 2 hours of climbing, ziplining, and traversing various obstacles, enjoy a scenic chairlift ride back down the mountain.

Picnic Packages and Chairlift Rides

West Mountain is now offering picnic packages, with a delicious lunch prepared by the executive chef. Take in the views of the Hudson River, Vermont mountains and Hudson River Valley Region from the wedding platform at the top of the mountain. They also offer a wine and charcuterie picnic package for adults over 21.

Mountain Biking

There are 25 cross-country and downhill trails to explore the mountain by bike. Take the chairlift up to the top then enjoy the exhilarating ride down!

Hiking

Enjoy the beautiful views from the top of West Mountain! Hike up the mountain, or take the lift up and just hike down. West Mountain is 1470 feet in elevation at the top, 460 feet at the bottom, and offers 15 hiking trails.

Mountaintop Yoga

West Mountain offers some yoga events at the stunning wedding platform on top of the mountain. Check their website for any upcoming events and class registration.

Outdoor Adventure Camp

Weekly summer camps are offered for kids ages 7-15. Three days a week, kids play games, hike, and even go up to the Aerial Adventure Park to climb in the treetops. An affordable meal plan can be purchased upon request.

Dining

West Mountain has two dining options at the main lodge.

Upstairs, the West Mountain Bar & Eatery is open for sit down dining and bar service during the winter season. The West Express Cafe, located downstairs, is open year round! This kitchen and cafe has a seating area for grilled foods as well as grab-and-go options.

There is also a bar with some warm food and grab-and-go options at the Northwest Lodge.
