Celebrate the season!
The Holiday Season can definitely get overwhelming. With parties, gifts, and decorating your schedule can get pretty busy and you can quickly lose sight of the joy of the season. Following a few tips you can eliminate, or at least lessen the pressure. This will leave you with free time to enjoy the simple pleasures of this time of year.
When it comes to shopping start NOW. And when we say now, we mean now. It may seem to early, but the sooner you start the sooner you finish. The extra time also allows you to plan exactly what you are going to get each person and how much money you are going to spend. You can save and prepare yourself for the cost. Shopping early also gives you a head start on the rush. Items will ot be picked over and this will give you more options in colors and sizes.
Eat Healthy. The holiday season is sure to be filled with parties and that means hors d'oeuvres and desserts. Don't let the idea of blowing your diet on festive foods get you down. There are plenty of ways to avoid a major pit-falls. Make sure to drink lots of water before and during the party. This will ensure that you are hydrated and will help you to feel full when you are. There are always healthy option to choose from. Avoid the cheese cubes and instead snack on fresh shrimp and raw veggies with light vegetable dip. Most importantly: it is a celebration so if
you behave yourself through appetizers and dinner you can have that piece of grandma's apple pie that only comes around once a year!
Plan ahead. The key to a stress-free season is to plan in advance. No matter what aspect of the season you are referring to it is important to get a head start. This will keep it light and fun. Some stress is un-avoidable, including and not limited to a burned turkey, cocktail sauce on your party shirt and a snow storm on the day of your event. Even if all three occur you will be surrounded by family and friends and they are sure to be forgiving and happy to be in your company despite mishaps.
