There is nothing like a parade to get you in the spirit of the season! Don't miss the 33rd Annual South Glens Falls Holiday Parade on Sunday, November 18, 2012! This year's theme is “Songs of the Season.”
The theme celebrates the songs and tunes of the holdiay season that puts everyone in the holiday spirit. The parade is sponsored by the Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. and the Village of South Glens Falls.
The Holiday Parade takes place every year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. As tradition holds, the parade will begin at 1pm in front of Glens Falls National Bank & Trust Co. on Route 9 (Saratoga Ave) in South Glens Falls. The parade will continue along Route 9 through the village of South Glens Falls.
There will be community groups, bands, floats, costumed characters, and of course, a very special guest: Santa Claus!
The holiday season is an important time to remember those in need! In the days leading up to the event, parade participants and spectators are asked to please bring the following donations to any Glens Falls National location:
- A new, unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots
- A non-perishable food item to donate to the Tri-County United Way Live United Program
The parade will benefit two local causes: Memorial Detachment No. 2 of the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots and the Tri-County United Way's 'Live United' programs.
Don't forget to drop off your donations throghout the week, and then come kick off the holiday season at the South Glens Falls Holiday Parade on Sunday!For more information please call Gail Hamel, parade coordinator at (518) 824-8383
