August 2013 Archives

stuffing.jpgHappy Labor Day weekend foodie friends! This Labor Day weekend we are thinking outside the box. This new love for our rotisserie has inspired us to cook a turkey on it. WHAT? A turkey you say? Well, yes. That is our pick and we're prepping Thanksgiving dinner in August right now!

Fresh herbs from the garden, perfect grilling weather and fresh produce from the farmers market makes this idea seem like a perfectly logical choice to me. Hey, why not?

Hey foodie friends! Another great weekend in Glens Falls under our belts. Hoping we won't need bigger belts after the feast we had last night.

The rotisserie that I bought to compliment our new grill is working out great. This may be our new favorite way to cook large cuts of meat.

This weekend was a beef sirloin tip roast! We did sides of tender, white, grilled asparagus with Dijon mustard vinaigrette, roasted baby potatoes and an easy Italian marinated tomato/tuna summer salad over mixed greens!
Hey foodie friends! Hope you've been enjoying summer fun in the Glens Falls area. We certainly have. Food, friends and lots of fun for all so far!

You may have noticed that I have mentioned Goodies For Gold a few times this summer.

This past Saturday I had a chance to attend and spend some time with my friends the Dawes family and experience for myself what a cool thing it is that this family is doing to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer

All the proceeds from their lemonade stand are being donated to Relay For Life. Do you have a spare $1 and a minute to stop by and help them reach their goal of $500 by end of summer? You'll meet some great people and leave feeling GREAT!

Following up on the recent grilled pizza recipe post.

Here are a few new ideas for topping your grilled pizza! So much fun and SO yummy!

Amberly ~ "Grilling pizza can be so fun! This time: Philly cheese steak, pesto veggie and Margherita pizza with Ricotta cheese."

A nice fresh salad on the side and you have a great meal that is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Hey foodie friends! What are you doing on this beautiful day?

Our good friends at Lumberjack Pass Mini Golf  in Lake George have a great idea! Why not head up to Lake George for a round of miniature golf and a bite to eat?

Even if you don't have time to play, Lumberjack Pass is a great place to stop by for lunch and some delicious ice cream.

The weather couldn't be better! What are you waiting for?
