pooped out

user-pic
so....my back yard is a paradise, there are birds, squirrels, ticks (some even jumped on me) and of course, there is mud.  i am obsessed with taking my new squeaky ball outside, even when my purpose is strictly for proper bodily functions.  that green ball is the cat's meow...oh, no, did i just say that!  about three times a week, we travel to south glens falls to hike along the hudson river on the most exciting trail i have ever smelled.  and i know smells.  there are 5 of us.  we meet sally, lucy(the mutt) and the second love of my life...maggie mae.  she is the most beautiful girl i have ever met.  we have slept together at her house when sally invites me for an over night.  she shares the space under sally and brian's huge bed.  she even stays there til i wake up.  but enough about the over night.  our experience along the river is most fascinating as we crackle dried leaves as we run and we leap over downed branches, follow wonderful scents and race each other.  our moms are happy that we are getting such great exercise, they visit as they keep an eye on us.  we have been told that we run a couple more miles than the moms because we travel into the woods, while they stick to the trail.  i know that when we are heading back home i have a hard time keeping my eyes open.  it's a fact...i am pooped out.  but because i am the most handsome goldendoodle, i am always ready to stay in the best shape i can, and therefore, i'll do it again...tomorrow.

CAROLE NEWELL

as the former owner of Samantha's Cafe & Catering, carole loves to eat. she grew up on a farm in northern ny, where at a given time of year, there was fresh meat for the freezer. often, on a sunday, a chicken made its way into the "pot". there was unpasteurized milk, cream for homemade ice cream and sulfur water from the well. life was as good as it gets. after college at potsdam, she made her way to glens falls. in 1986, with her husband's help, she started her business named after her daughter the focus was originally on homemade soups, breads from scratch, customer service and having a great time. still, there is the same focus, but now we factor in "green", and local products. good, healthy food can always be found at samantha's. we hope you love to eat, too!
