Fort Ticonderoga presents "The American Revolution on the Northern Frontier: Fort Ticonderoga and the Road to Saratoga," an NEH Landmarks of American History and Culture Workshop for School Teachers. This workshop will accept 40 teachers. Applications are through the NEH website.

Join Fort staff for a rare look inside the building where the preservation of Fort Ticonderoga began and learn about the exciting new research that is challenging long-held assumptions about the building's past. Tours begin at 1:00 pm near the Guest Services Desk in the Log House Welcome Center. Tour duration is about an hour and a half once we assemble at the Pavilion.

Climb aboard Fort Ticonderoga's ground transportation to approach the tactical challenges faced by generals like Abercromby, Burgoyne, Amherst, and Gates. Play out their decisions as you tour the historic hills surrounding Ticonderoga and place yourself in their shoes to see if they played their hands well as they vied for this Key to the Continent. Beginning from Fort Ticonderoga itself, travel out to the French Lines, the great 1758 battlefield.

M. E. Kemp uses the research material from one of her historical mysteries to examine the causes, victims and villains of the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. From scary stories told to 2 young girls to hundreds being jailed in Salem and Boston on the testimony of a pack of teenaged girls, Kemp examines the causes and results of this, the most famous event in American history.

Spend an intimate evening exploring Fort Ticonderoga's past as our museum staff guide you through the Fort recounting the many unexplained events experienced by staff and visitors over the past 100 years. Advanced reservations required. Site opens at 7:30 pm and the tour will promptly begin at 8:00 pm. Tour duration is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. $40 per person.

This area features homes built by Saratoga's most prominent figures such as Lucy Skidmore Scribner, Fred Cluett, William B. Gage, and Senator Brackett. Buy 4 tours and get 1 FREE! A presentation by Paul McCarty, the Fort Edward Town Historian, Mr. McCarty will discuss Solomon Northup and his book "Twelve Years a Slave."
