22nd Annual Million Dollar Duck Race
Glens Falls NY - You may not be able to afford a horse to race at Saratoga Race Course this season, but you can buy another animal, for much less, that will put you in the running to win some big bucks!
That’s right – the 22nd Annual Million Dollar Duck Race is July 28, 2012. You can buy a duck for $5 and watch it race through Haviland Cove to the finish line. The fastest little duckie will win $2012 and if it is one of the pre-selected million-dollar ducks, the lucky ticket holder wins one million!
Apart from the grand prize, other ducks that place can win more cash prizes and other great prizes for their lucky ticket holders. If you can't make the date, prizes are still awarded to absentees.
The Annual Million Dollar Duck Race is sponsored by the Glens Falls Kiwanis Club each year and raises funds for participating non-profits.
The Kiwanis Club is a global volunteer organization that aims to better the world, “one child and one community at a time.”
The Glens Falls Kiwanis Club holds meetings which are open to all interested every Wednesday at the Queensbury Hotel. Meetings begin at 12:10pm and end no later than 1:30pm.
Ticket Information:
Tickets can be purchased through July 23, 2012 from Kiwanis members and participating non-profits, including:
- Martha’s on Route 9
- Warren Tire on Warren Street
- The Chapman Museum on Glen Street
- Select Glens Falls National Bank branch offices
They also will be available on race day at Havilands Cove on July 28th starting at 10:30 am.
Family Fun Day at Haviland’s Cove, will run from 11 am to 2 pm. The FREE event will include music, crafts and games, pony rides, a bounce house, petting zoo and more. The race starts right at 12:31pm, and will conclude at 2pm.
Be sure to buy a ticket and cross your fingers for your favorite rubber duckie on July 28, 2012 – you could end up being Glens Falls, NY’s next big winner!
