As part of Hometown Holidays, on Saturday, December 1st downtowm Glens Falls businesses will have refreshments and festive fun and the streets will be filled with families enjoying street entertainers -- like saxophone Santa and ice sculpting demos.

Event Highlights Include:

  • Holiday Shopping Day at Local Businesses
  • Art Trail Trolley ($1.00/person)
  • Christmas Fair
  • Kids hands on & interactive exhibits
  • Saxophone Santa plays tunes all around Downtown
  • 'The Night Before Christmas' performance

The Following Businesses Will offer Family Fun:

The Shirt Factory (Trolley drop off at the loading dock off Curran Lane)
Time: Open 10am – 4pm
Description: First floor shops and select studios will be open for holidayshopping. More than 10 businesses under one creative roof. List of openstudios will be available at the Shirt Factory Gallery on the first floor by the loading dock entrance. Admission is free.

Time: 10am-4pm
Description: Annual Holiday Shop featuring local and regional artists. Music by Alicia Bautista from 1-4pm. Hot cider and treats by the Chocolate Spoon sold in the Gallery. Admission is free.
 
Time: 10:30am-5:00pm
Description: “Winter Solstice”: Discover the world in a hands-on, global art and culture Museum. Interactive exhibits and activities for children and families. Shop for groceries in a Nigerian Marketplace. Learn how to use chopsticks in a Japanese Washitsu. Dress up in international costumes… play and explore our world! Admission is free.
 
Time: On the hour from 10am-2pm
Description: The museum will present theatrical readings in the DeLong House of Victorian holiday poetry, the Dutch Sinterklaas story and excerpts from Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates. Space is limited; seating will be on a first come basis. Self-guided tours of the house will be available between performances.
 
Time: Open 10am-5:30pm
Description: Refreshments. Donations requested. Book and gift sale all day, music throughout the day, children’s craft table, children’s movie shown every hour on the half hour, Durkeetown’s Drama Team Presentation at 11am, 1 & 3pm. Admission is free.
 
Event Time: 11am-4pm
Description: The Hyde Collection is a world-class art museum and historic home offering temporary exhibitions and educational programs. Make your own Holiday Card & Ornament during this drop-in time. Free for all ages.
 
This event will take place as part of the Hometown Holidays Celebration.
