EMMY AWARD WINNING TELEVISION ICON ED ASNER TO RETURN TO THE CR WOOD THEATRE APRIL 10, 2012 IN 1-MAN SHOW AFTER SOLD-OUT PERFORMANCE IN 2010
Ed Asner, recipient of seven Emmy Awards (“Mary Tyler Moore Show”, “Lou Grant”) and 16 nominations, five Golden Globe Awards, and member of the TV Academy Hall of Fame, will star in the solo performance drama, “FDR,” based upon Dore Schary’s Broadway hit “Sunrise at Campobello”, (which ran 70 weeks on Broadway) on Tuesday, April 10 at 7:30pm at The CR Wood Theater in downtown Glens Falls, NY. This will mark Mr. Asner's second visit to this historic theater after his much heralded, sold-out performance in 2010.
Mr. Asner’s New York City Theatre credits include Ivanov, The Tempest, Face of a Hero, King Henry V, and Born Yesterday. Other theatrical credits include Woyzck, Volpone, Windoweis Houses, Dybbuk, Red Gloves, Murder in the Cathedral, Miss Julie, The Seagull, Peer Gynt, Juno and the Paycock, and Oedipus Rex. Additional Television work includes appearances as a recurring guest star on the television series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and an Emmy Award Winning role as Captain Davies in the mini-series Roots. Most recently Mr. Asner was the voice of the grumpy, yet loveable Carl in Disney/Pixar’s blockbuster film, Up.
