Hovey Pond Park

A 12-acre park where nature lovers can enjoy fishing for brook and brown trout, bird watching, jog around the pond, explore the wildlife of the marsh and enjoy the spectacular gardens and where children can look for frogs and baby ducks and play on the playground and enjoy a picnic under the gazebo or at the picnic tables. A beautiful floral garden is maintained by the Friends of Hovey Park which is enjoyable to walk around. Hovey Pond Park is a great place for the family to spend an afternoon and has a play area for the kids to have some fun outdoors. 

The park is located in Queensbury NY, centrally located between Lafayette St. and Glenwood Ave. The park is open daily during day-light hours.

Amenities: 

- Walking path around the 4-acre pond (3.5 laps= 1 mile)

- Picnic tables and portable restrooms.

- Floral gardens built and maintained by the Friends of Hovey Pond.

- Handicapped fishing dock.

- Marshland walkway / observation decks.

- Play area with many park benches. 

- Parking off Lafayette Street.

- Leashed dogs are welcomed!

If you are planning an afternoon at Hovey Pond with young children, a scavenger hunt is a great way to keep them busy and have fun! Children will be excited to go on an adventure and identify all of the objects on the list. Here is a Scavenger Hunt that we received from Miss Strazza,one of the many wonderful kindergarten teachers at Queensbury Elementary School.Once you and your children complete that hunt, get creative and make your own!
