Freedom Park in Queensbury is a great playground for younger kids from toddlers to 9 years old. The ground is made from recycled tires and makes a soft bouncy landing ground for children.
The entire playground is barrier free, so it is handicap accessible and also makes for great running – the children love to chase around the playground, through the tunnels, up the ropes and down the slides and ladders. There is a fabulous sandpit that the little ones will play in for hours.
Kids also love to play under the playground and use their imaginations playing house. The playground has some tire swings and toddler swings as well as an outhouse, picnic tables and garbage cans.
Directions to Freedom Park from Exit 19:
Head east on Aviation Road (NY 254) continue on 254 which changes names to Quaker Road approximately 1.2 miles to Glenwood Avenue. Continue and Freedom Park will be on your left. Location: 71 Glenwood Ave., Queensbury NY Size: 6,200 sq. ft.
Hours: Open from dawn til dusk from April - Nov.
