Fenimore Asset Management (Fenimore) is an independent investment advisory firm. Thomas Putnam founded Fenimore in 1974 as a means to manage family money after they sold Fenimore Fabrics, a textile company named after famous local author James Fenimore Cooper.

Fenimore manages separate individual and institutional portfolios and is the investment advisor to FAM Funds - the FAM Value Fund and FAM Equity-Income Fund. For almost four decades, Fenimore has been hand-selecting investments as if we were going to buy the entire company. We conduct in-house research, analyze each investment in great detail, and seek to invest in quality stocks at discounts.
