THIS IS HOW WE DO IT...
Kate Austin-Avon comes from a family history of scrappy people who get things done and gentle folks who listen hard. Around here, we like to get to know you and your needs, then roll up our sleeves and figure out a way to get the project done within your budget. We’re experts at making things run on a shoestring and also have some quality tools in our box.
That’s to say we work on all levels – either piecing things together by hand as a one-woman-band for the folks with tighter belts, or calling on our superior team of techie experts for specialized needs. Whether you’re a fledgling artist in need of a website or an established business who could use some Facebook help, Advokate is your guy.
ALL ABOUT ADVOKATE...
Advokate, a company to help artists and small businesses with self-promotion, is owned by Kate Austin-Avon, a mixed-media artist working and living in Glens Falls, New York.
Kate has more than four years of exhibition schedules under her belt, with plenty of firsthand experience promoting her own art career. She studied at Hartwick College and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Art from Empire State College.
She is part of the management team for The Shirt Factory, an arts and healing center located in a renovated factory. The building features more than 30 artists’ studios and businesses. She was Co-President of North Country Arts Center for two years and has served on the board for more than four years. She served as committee chair for NCAC’s annual Colors of Fall Arts and Crafts Festival for four years. She also serves on the board of Art in the Public Eye.
She was Arts Writer and Calendar Editor of The Chronicle, a weekly newspaper, for two years before launching Advokate in September of 2010.
