The Adirondack Museum, one of the largest museums in upstate New York, is the place for Adirondack visitors to deepen their appreciation for what's special about the region.

Explore how people have lived, worked, traveled, and played in the Adirondacks from the 19th century right up until today. The Adirondack Museum offers 65,000 square feet of exciting exhibitions housed in twenty-two modern and historic buildings. Interactive, hands-on activities abound making the stories of the Adirondacks and its people highly engaging for children as well as adults. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from late May to mid-October.

Cost: Tuition $105. Member Tuition $85. Materials fee $20.
The Adirondacks were built with simple tools such as traditional hammers and axes. The hammerhead and axe head were the trade of the local blacksmith but they needed handles to be useful. So come fashion handles just like the early settlers did. NOTE: This Adirondack Folk School class will be taking place at the ADIRONDACK MUSEUM in Blue Mountain Lake. Museum members will receive the AFS member price of $85.
