Board of Directors Chosen for the Charles Wood Theater for 2012
The Charles Wood Theater located at 207 Glen Street Glens Falls, NY has announced its Board of Directors for 2012.
The Wood Theater was opened in 2004 as a 501(C) not for profit organization is overseen by a Volunteer Board of Directors. Originally called the Partners for Progress, the organization did business as The Woolworth Theater Project and then officially became The Charles Wood Theater, Inc in 2004.
Rejoining the Board of Directors is Paul McPhillips one of the founding members of the Charles Wood Theater Board of Directors serving from 2002 until 2010. Mr. McPhillips is president of W. Joseph McPhillips, Inc., in Glens Falls. He is a Chartered Property and Causalty Underwriter (CPCU), and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM). Paul is a graduate of Saint Mary’s Academy and Elmira College where he earned a BA in Political Science. Prior to joining W. Joseph McPhillips, Inc., he was an underwriter for Continental Insurance Company.
Mr. McPhillips is a Regional Development Board Member for the Glens Falls National Bank. He is past President of the Board of Directors of the Charles Wood Theatre and past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Warren County Economic Development Corporation. He is a past member of the City of Glens Falls Local Development Corporation and Industrial Development Agency. And he is a past board member of the Adirondack Community College Foundation, and the Glens Falls Area Youth Center.
Mr. McPhillips and his wife, Suzanne, live on Glen Lake in Queensbury and they have a son, Michael.
Joining the Wood Theater Board for the first time is Kim Filion the Director of Finance and Human Resources at JMZ Architects for the past nine years. Prior to her joining JMZ, she wasthe interim president of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of their 1993 Leadership Adirondack class. Kim has been actively involved in Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Glens Falls Kiwanis Club, Adirondack Girl Scout Council, and several other community organizations. In 2001, Kim was a recipient of the “40 Under 40″ Award from the Capital District Business Review. Professional Credentials: Bachelor of Science (Accounting/Marketing), Southern New Hampshire University, 1987 Institute for Organizational Management (Human Resources/Marketing), University of Delaware, 1997 Society For Human Resource Management; Coach, Adirondack Girls Lacrosse League Past President, Glens Falls Kiwanis Club; Instructor, Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York ; Former Member, Community Leadership Association; Former Member, American Chamber of Commerce Executives.
Ms. Filion and her husband, Dave, live in Glens Falls with their daughter.
